Our DB7 Volante i6 is a 1997 Model in Mendip Blue. First registered and delivered 19/03/1997 by Stratton Motor Company (Norfolk), we acquired this car on 09/03/2020 just before the Covid lockdown.
We are the third owners of this beautiful convertible which has a full-service history, paperwork and the original spare keys, only 46K miles driven on the clock. It is still in original condition but unfortunately the previous owner was forced to sell the car due to ill health.
We found her in a factory workshop having been stored, not been driven much for two years and was in a dirty state. I thoroughly cleaned the inside and out.
She is fitted to UK specifications (one of only 66 ever made for this UK model) with a 5-speed manual gearbox, with the original stainless-steel sports exhaust, blue and cream leather interior and walnut dashboard.
I have maintained the car myself and have replaced all the front top and bottom ball joints, the front top and bottom wishbone bushes, the front anti-roll bar and link bushes, the front dampers, replaced the oil cooler pipes (which were weeping) and oil cooler radiator.
I also took all the front suspensions components off, cleaned and repainted them black to preserve and protect them for the future, with a view to keeping the car as original as possible.
I had the (original) wheels refurbished by being straightened, powder coated and the original silver colour repainted to them, tyres and tracking checked.
She now drives the way it should be, (on rails) and is an absolute pleasure with her throaty exhaust roar (which turns heads every time).
My wife and I are new members to the AMOC and look forward to taking part in events when this crisis is over.
