After being a non-owning member of AMOC for 22 years, I bought my 2000 Solent Silver DB7 Vantage in May 2014. She is no garage queen, covering between 3,000 and 4,500 miles a year, with 67,442 miles from new, I have the full owner and service history.
The colour is unusual, in some light it is very silver but in others it has a blue tinge and I often get nice comments about it. The interior has Light Grey seats with Pacific Blue Carpets and Trim with a Light Elm Dash.
As an early Vantage model, she is a non-tiptronic auto and has the space saver spare wheel, with the full tool kit, including original gloves.
It was featured in Jaguar World magazine, being compared to an XKR and most recently AML borrowed it for their 70th anniversary celebration of the Vantage designation. They photographed it with all the Vantage models from DB2 to the new Vantage and AML have used the photos for various internet based promotions and their celebration also featured in last month’s Classic & Sports Car.
I enjoy entering AMOC Concours, including the inaugural Benelux Concours in the Netherlands in 2019. I also won first place at the Brooklands Double Twelve, DB7 Celebration Class in 2019, my son and I also won the award for the best dressed crew.
I enjoy taking her on tours with AMOC members, weekends away with my wife and visiting family and friends. I took my Mother for a “spirited” drive through the Preseli Mountains, when after one overtake, she turned to me with a big smile and said “NOW, I know WHY Aston Martin”.
