Our faithful and much treasured DB7 VV ‘Lydia’ joined us on her third birthday in June 2006 with 36,000 miles and full Grange of Exeter service history. After about 6 ‘Astonless’ years, she admirably filled the yearning void left by my old and much lamented DB6 – as she still, very much, does today.
Now at just over 50,000 miles she has provided faultless and hugely enjoyed continental holiday trips mainly around France and northern Spain and spirited journeys to AMOC events – including two great track days at Goodwood, where, with some excellent tuition, I learnt to drive her a bit more professionally – but have never managed fully to exploit the potential of her fantastic, and often effortless, 6 litre V12.
Maintained today by Aston specialist Will Khoo (AJ Tech, Newton Abbot)) we have progressively restored ‘Lydia’, mechanically, to Concours spec to match the bodywork and interior condition - but this is always seen as a joyful journey, not a static destination yet fully achieved – on this 17 year old, very graceful Aston!
A true member of our family and, for sentimental reasons, she will never be sold - at least, while I'm around!
