1957 Aston Martin DB Mk III AM300/3/1380
Although originally dispatched to California, the rest of this car’s early history is unknown. Until acquired by its current owner in 2005, the car was not listed in the Aston Martin Owners’ Club Registry. After at least two aborted restoration attempts in the past 20 years during which most of the interior was lost, it underwent a 5+ year ground-up restoration by the owner in conjunction with Sport & Specialty, Durand, IL and Ogden Top & Trim, Berwyn, IL. In July 2011 it flawlessly made its maiden voyage from Chicago to Elkhart Lake, WI, and its debut at the Road & Track Magazine Concours d’Elegance, where it won a prize in its class.
In January 2012 the Aston Martin Owners Club awarded it the 2011 Horace Wilmshurst Award for most interesting car introduced at Concours. It has since won many prizes including a Lion’s Award in the Postwar Sports Class at the 2012 Concours of America in Plymouth, MI; 1st Place at the 2012 Botham Winery Vintage Celebration in Barneveld, WI; a Carl Benz award at the 2012 Geneva (IL) Concours d’Elegance; Best in Show at the 2012 BCU (Chicagoland) British Car Festival in Palatine, IL; Best in the Aston Martin Class (special class for 100th anniversary) at the 2013 Ault Park Concours, Cincinnati, OH; 1st Place in the Feltham Class at the 2013 AMOC Lime Rock Concours; and Best in the Aston Martin Class (special class for 100th anniversary) at the 2013 Milwaukee Masterpiece Concours d’Elegance; Chairman’s Award at the 2014 VSCDA Elkhart Lake Vintage Festival Gathering On the Green in Elkhart Lake, WI; and Best Sportscar at the 2015 Nationwide Insurance Concours d'Elegance in Elkhart Lake, WI. The car was among those presented at the 2013 Amelia Island Concours d’Elegance.
An absolutely perfect condition; you can be proud of it; maybe you ask again Tim Cottingham registrar at AMHT for your history. Tim get constant new informations. Are you a member of the Facebook group “Feltham enthusiasts”? maybe they can help you.
Lovely. Can see why your car has won so many awards.
Well presented model. Good to use.

Spectacular car. I loved meeting you, Peter, and seeing your car at the Amelia Island Concours in 2015, if I recall correctly.
