It was a childhood dream to have an Aston, which took 50 years to come to fruition! Lots of cars along the way, some good and some poor, but nothing so beautiful or soulful. This, my first Aston, is an early 4.3 Vantage, registered in the second week of January 2006, with sub 1000 chassis and engine numbers. This car represents a typical ‘baby Aston’ from the beginning of the Gaydon era. It is a car which has been driven, enjoyed and loved.... It has had regular use but been well cared for, with 16 AM or specialist services over it’s 60000 mile and 14 and a half year life. I am the sixth owner, with the previous owner having had the car for nearly six years. It has served its owners with that unique Aston experience, and to me the car epitomises what sports car driving should be about. An analogue manual driving experience with a glorious sound and looks which are a true art form.
The car is Onyx Black with Obsidian leather and full alcantara roof lining. With the exception of DAB and an iPod connector it is completely unmodified from original specification. Thus it is a good representation of the first of the Gaydon Vantages. Options fitted at new included heated seats, SatNav and cruise control.
The last photo was taken just after my purchase, and used no special filters. The light bouncing off the car shows the beauty of the sculpted bodywork, and to my mind captures the grace and spirit of the car. A baby Aston, but a true one.
