Our DB9 started life in the States at The Collection in South Florida and was given a home in March 2010.
Fast forward to April 2019 when my wife Lark and I became the third caretakers of this black hood, red Volante, decked out with red calipers, obsidian black interior, and piano black trim.
I searched sometime for a manual DB9 and found a Volante hard to find.
We have owned other 12-cylinder automobiles including an XKE Jaguar and 750 IL BMW. The way the power is delivered so smoothly made these automobiles a dream for long distance travel. We wanted that experience again in a modern sporting automobile.
And then, there it was, mesmerizing us with its sculpted lines like a piece of art. Ian Callum and Henrik Fisker created a beautiful, sensual, and stylish automobile that carries the DB heritage forward and it will become an iconic and timeless design in its own right.
Sitting in the interior, looking at the superbly finished materials and elegant smart modern styling was a pleasure. Then pushing in the ECU and hearing that power through the exhaust on startup was exquisite.
The DB9 is truly engineered to be a complete GT automobile for the ages to be enjoyed for a lifetime. An automobile to drive in style and comfort with power and handling like no other.
During the COVID 19 lockdown, we stayed at our home in Mount Dora, Florida. Our son stayed with us and photographed the DB9 on the deserted streets. All exterior photos except the rear were taken in April 2020. Interior, engine, and exterior rear photos were taken at night May 29th.
It is a privilege to be a part of the AMOC family and we attended our first event in Sarasota Florida in January.
