Since my childhood I was introduced to the driving pleasure of British sports cars by my grandfather, driving Healey's, Austin Atlantic and my uncle, driving MG's, both living next door. By the time I reached 18, a deep passion for English cars had rooted itself within. I started with Triumph's, went to Jaguars and finally in 2009, I bought my first Aston Martin: this dark green Roadster, looking precisely as I was educated an Aston should. Most British (sports) cars I ever bought, are still part of the garage to date..
This Vantage, owned from new, is a very early 4.7L roadster, full option, minus umbrella holder -had to save somewhere-... The colour sheme was tailored to taste: complementary shades of green. The body was painted in a sixties Aston Martin dark-tinted green. The interior leather, carpeting, and the hood; all variations of dark and lesser dark green.
With this car my wife and I had the pleasure traversing the whole of Europe, more than 20 000 miles.
Last year, it took us as far as the Norh Cape.
Granddad was right : English sports cars are gorgeous, and even better to drive.
