Aston Martin Virage V12 Touchtronic Auto Coupe
The Virage is our third Aston Martin, the first being a 2004 DB7 Vantage and the second a 2005 DB9 both finished in classic Tungsten Silver. On seeing a Vantage V12S in Cinnabar Orange the seed was sown for a change of car and colour. The only DB9 available in this colour was a GT in Australia, not very useful for us in the UK.
Then by chance a 2011 Virage coupe, in the launch colour of Madagascar Orange, became available at Aston Martin Nottingham with just 3,170 miles on the clock! Following an inspection, test drive and a reasonable PX on the DB9 a deal was done. The Virage was simply stunning and basically as new. In addition to the standard high specification of the car, which included carbon ceramic brakes, adaptive damping and Contemporary Obsidian Black leather with orange trim, a high spec alarm, seat wings logo, titanium silver meshes and a piano black veneer were added.
The first three years of the cars life are a bit of a mystery. The PDI check was carried out in June 2011 by Stratstone Amersham, the owner of the car being recorded as AML. The Virage was not however sold until June 2014 to its second owner with a mileage of only 1,237? From my research it appears that it may have been used by AML as a ‘demo’, ‘display’ or ‘experience’ car, known of which have been verified. One thing that was established is that only six right hand drive cars, finished in Madagascar Orange, reside in the UK.
As the fourth owner we have now had the car for two years and are enjoying the experience immensely. The combination of the gorgeous design and colour turn heads wherever we go.
