Growing up in England I always dreamed of owning an Aston Martin but it was not until 2013, after living here in the USA for 30 of the last 33 years, that I bought my first one, a 1997 DB7 coupe. I had the bug! The DB7 was followed by a 2009 V8 Vantage Coupe and in November 2017 by the gorgeous car you see here, my 2012 V8 Vantage Roadster. Finished in Stratus White with a two-tone Bitter Chocolate/Sandstorm interior I could not take my eyes (or my mind) off it when I saw it in a Dallas, Texas showroom. I traded in my 2009 V8 Vantage and became only the second owner of this beauty. With only 12,000 miles it was virtually a new car. Made in July 2012 it is what is known as a 2012.25 model year car. Best of the specifications were the adoption of the 7-speed Sportshift II transmission which was a big advance over the previous 6-speed Sportshift I of my 2009 Vantage. It is also fitted with the body updates of the V8/V12 Vantage S (although not in carbon fiber, alas), a quicker steering rack, wider tires and 6-piston brake calipers up front. This car also has a mahogany veneer "waterfall" upper center console which is very uncommon on Vantages but apparently they had temporarily run out of alloy panels at the time! I think it looks great and suits the rest of the interior.
The final image below was taken last summer at 12,000 feet in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, when my wife and I drove 3,312 miles from Arkansas (where there are very, very few Astons) to participate in an AMOC regional event for a week. It was a fabulous vacation with 27 other Aston owners!
