In the year of AM's Centennial Anniversary, I reached my Semicentennial age of 50. I was honoured and touched to receive a 50th gift from the then AML Management team of Dave Richards & Uli Betz plus Ian Callum (designer of the Vanquish) and the legend that was Sir Stirling Moss. My Prototype Vanquish is well known to the NP team.
Sir Stirling signed it "To Frank, the most dangerous pilot in the world". This followed a discussion I had with him at the Hotel de France in 2009, where we got onto the subject of my service as a RN helicopter pilot in the 1980's including the Falklands campaign, where I escaped off the deck of the Atlantic Conveyor after she was attacked by Argentine forces. I was amazed and honored he remembered our discussion 4 years earlier. What a Gent!
