In December 2016 I was fortunate enough to go on holiday with my family to Jamaica.
Before going, I did some research on what to buy while there - what the country is renowned for - and amongst other things - found that wood carvings is the thing to buy.
Some research pointed to a craftsman close to the hotel we would be staying at who, according to his web site - would undertake commissioned projects. "Great" thought I, "I will get a scaled model of my car made", and promptly sent by email a number of photos of my pride and joy - a 2004 Vanquish, and some technical scaled drawings I was able to obtain.
A price agreed by email exchange, and work would commence so it would be ready before I had to depart back to the UK.
I was sent several photos of the work, as it progressed, and quickly realised it was not going to turn out in the way I had imagined. (One of the pictures sent to me by him may hint at one of the influences on the final result).
However - I have ended up with a truly unique representation of my car (looking more like a sculpture made of chocolate that has been left in front of a fireplace), and a very special souvenir of our holiday in Jamaica.
nb The car on which this model is based is entered in the Newport Pagnell 12cyl class.
