I first drove the new manual Vantage at Gaydon in November 2019, only to be told they were all sold! Needless to say, I was bowled over by the performance and the engaging drive but resigned myself to waiting until I could spec my own Vantage with a manual gearbox. In the meantime, I went to the Bicester Heritage Scramble in January 2020, where I met up with Derek Wise who had recently taken delivery of his Vantage AMR 59. Simon Stanton from Aston Martin Works was also there and, unbeknown to me chatted to Derek, who mentioned I was very taken with his car. That evening I got a text from Simon saying he thought he could lay his hands on an AMR 59 that had not been taken up by the original customer and suggested that if I was interested, I should contact him. Well - as you can see, the rest is history and I am now the very proud owner of this fabulous special Le Mans Edition AMR Vantage 59. Taking delivery just before the first lockdown was not ideal but I have now done 1000 miles in her. Every time I take her out she puts a great big grin on my face.

Cleaner and more shiny than brand new. Good job Tom.
Thank you Rob. I'm looking forward to an opportunity to get her dirty though!
Hi Tom
I’m unfamiliar with the new Vantage but in the brutish AMR Le Mans guise it is a stunning car. Congratulations!
Cheers Michael - it is an amazing car to drive. I terms of handling, more akin to a 4 WD Porsche than the usual Aston Martin Grand Touring models. Hopefully we will be able to meet up again soon.
I’m sure we’ll be able to soon
