It's really a story of three Simon's. On May 1st 2019 Simon Stanton of Aston Martin works had confirmed my order for one of these rare cars in just 27 mins of the first "tweet" from Gaydon. While I loved my current 2018 Vantage it was always a placeholder waiting for a special edition manual to come along. I had already found the perfect registration plate only a few hours later. "MY59 AMR" would do just fine.
Once the full spec became available it wasn't long until the second Simon got involved (Simon Lane of Q) as I was determined to not only have one of the 59 cars but I wanted the best single example possible. We made sure to check every single option (including the very rare carbon fibre under bonnet kit) but that wasn't going to be enough to make it perfect. After many many debates this Vantage 59 is the only one delivered from the factory with a carbon fibre steering wheel and a hand painted Lime Essence 12 o'clock stripe. It was also fitted with Lime Essence colour-matched seatbelts as Aston offered no colour that fit the interior and was installed by the Works team before delivery.
Our final Simon (Simon Bench who runs marketing for Aston Martin Works) agreed to allow rare access to the Works garage for an after hours photography session with the amazing photographer GF Williams to document the delivery of the car. While I didn't include the entire set of images in order to meet with the submission requirements, I did include one as my wild card. Not only is it a fantastic picture of the Vantage 59 in the historic Works Garage but my previous Vantage "V8 WSE" is on the lifts being inspected for sale.
This car has 3121 miles on it as of this post, it's fully covered in PPF, and is my daily driver. It will continue to be that for many years to come.
