It's truly a pleasure to introduce you to my 2002 V12 Vanquish, originally delivered to Germany in a 2+0 configuration, Stronsay Silver, and one of the earlier cars, carrying chassis #383, with matching engine #393. I bought it 5 years ago at the age of 35 and very well remember driving the car home over the Autobahn, giving my mom her first +200 km/h experience and all I saw were big smiles! ;-) It's a spectacular and imposing car, as it combines extreme elegance with some kind of brutality...
The circumstances in which I was able to buy this car are very sad. The previous owner, collector of an amazing range of modern and classic cars, had a lethal accident in his Ferrari California. His wife had to sell a large part of his collection, which he had carefully build over many years. This car had less than 25.000 km's and although it is 18 years old, it still looks brand new!
So although it's a pure joy to own it and drive it, I do feel it comes with a responsability to keep it in the incredible condition it is and in which it was delivered to me by this previous owner. And carry it over to the next custodian in a future, hopefully very far from today! It might even remain in the family over the next generations to come, as my son is probably my most enthusiastic co-driver, and already at a young age he has genuine interest in the Aston Martin brand and history.
I was into the market for a Vanquish quite some time, learning everything there was to know and comparing the different colours and styling. This car instantly struck me because of its special quilted leather seats and alcantara headlining, and the combination of the silver exterior and black over two-tone tobacco interior colours.
I am looking forward to many amazing years to come, following the brand, enjoying the AMOC-membership and the excellent atmosphere in the Belgian section, and meeting many fellow Aston Martin enthusiasts.
