I bought this V12 Vanquish SDP in Chiltern Green in 2016. I’ve always loved the Vanquish design and it’s significance in Aston Martin history make it a modern classic in so many ways. I paid a little above market value at the time as the condition and history was superb having had many upgrades including SDP, S Clutch, ASM and the Burr Walnut facia, along with numerous other improvements. Since it’s 2002 registration it has had no expense spared on it. The Chiltern Green paintwork in particular glowed when I first saw it. I think this colour suits the Vanquish best too. I have spent many hours going through the car to bring it to concours standard and finally won in 2019 with 92 points. I also had the huge privilege of being invited to the Vantage magazine photoshoot for Project Vantage in spring 2018 where I also met Ian Callum for the first time. We spent the day talking about the cars history in between taking photos for the magazine. Having met Ian again since, you will notice his signature on the engine beauty panel. Last autumn I joined other Astons on another photoshoot for Vantage magazine which is published next month. Finally I am very happy my car has been invited to join other cars to celebrate designs by Ian Callum at the London Concours June 6-8th at the Honourable Artillery Company. If you visit please come and say hello.
My extra photo is by a then 16 year old son of a local DBS Volante owner. I felt he really captured the quality of the paintwork and took much better photos than I ever could, as the others demonstrate.
