The end of a boyhood dream to own an Aston Martin ended in 2000 with the purchase of this 1969 DB6 from an AMOC member. Since then, we've covered over 60,000 miles around Europe and the UK. It also goes to Sainsburys.
The car has won a few AMOC concours awards, mainly in the PoO Class, thanks to a few non-standard parts that make it easier to use in modern traffic but leave it in less than original spec.
Parading with the AMOC in front of HM Queen and Prince Phillip inside the grounds of Windsor Castle was a major highlight in 2005.
My 'wild card' photo, selected from the many thousands we have of the car, was taken in Belgium in June 2019... ah, those heady days of freedom to travel! The photo reminds me of the immense sacrifice made by that generation and subsequently, so that we have the freedom to enjoy our lovely cars.
Lest we forget.
