Purchased in 2014 in quite good order, I had intended to carry out minor restoration work to keep the car in regular use. Around this time I semi-retired, so of course the restoration became my new job. Three years later, and I had exceeded my original remit quite considerably, having completed a full bare metal, chassis up restoration!
When purchased, the car was fitted with Vantage wheels and front spoiler. Fortunately the seller still had the original wheels, which I had fully restored, adding the POW front spoiler, which I find much more complimentary to the look of the car. I did retain the radiator blank, although I do have a new mesh version on hand.
Living on the Isle of Man meant a lot of ferry trips picking up parts, and across to Stratton Motor Company who carried out the chassis and body restoration, including the bare metal re paint in Windsor Red, together with full suspension, brakes and drive train rebuild.
One aspect of the rebuild that really pleased me was being able to retain the white everflex convertible top, which is in surprisingly good condition. I really did not want to loose the authenticity by adding a modern mohair alternative.
