I ordered this car to be built from the factory in March 1987 and it was first registered in August 1987 as E111 ROL.
I believe this is one of the first Vantage Volante to be built. It’s finished in Litchfield black with grey parchment interior black piping and black carpet with grey Edging.
I specified the car with a mohair hood and glass heated rear window as opposed to the standard vinyl roof.
I felt the standard Ronal alloy wheels didn’t fill the extended arches properly so the factory commissioned some split rim offset polished alloys for me, which were fitted to the car during production.
I actually bought an additional set of the split rim wheels at the same time as I had a feeling they were going to be very rare. 1.5 “ wider at rear . Bumper over riders were also fitted as you can see with the lower fog lamps.
The car has done 3,700 miles from new and has been maintained either at the Works or in more recent times with David Eales at Oselli.
David, as you know was service manager of the factory at this time and he kept a watching brief on the cars production for me as he had always maintained my previous Astons. BIB 8 is totally original, has never had the slightest paint work and does not have even one stone chip or the tiniest of blemishes, the car still sits on its original tyres, but last year I did manage to buy a new set, although they’ve never been fitted.
This is a fabulous car in a lovely colour and technical combination and is one of my treasured possessions . The set of fully fitted luggage is still of course in as new condition and as you can see is the same colour as the interior of the car .
